Ways to Energetically Prepare Your Home for the Holidays
Clearing the energy of your home can create a warm, inviting, and harmonious atmosphere for the holidays. Here are some effective ways to refresh and uplift the energy that will support you, your family, and everyone who visits.
#1 Declutter and Clean
Remove old or unused items to create space for fresh energy. Clutter prevents the flow of uplifting energy into your home, especially if it’s accumulated in certain areas of the home.
Deep Cleaning: Dust, vacuum, and wipe down surfaces. Pay attention to corners, mirrors, and windows, which can hold stagnant energy.
#2 Smudging or Smoke Cleansing
Use sage, palo santo, or incense to cleanse the space. Light the sage, palo santo, or incense and let the smoke waft through the rooms, especially corners and entrances. This helps dispel negativity.
Open windows to allow old energy to leave and invite in fresh air. Doing this for even a few minutes in cold climates will help bring in new and uplifting energy.
#3 Sound Cleansing
Use bowls, singing bowls, or simply clap your hands around the house to break up dense or stagnant energy.
Play uplifting holiday music to set a cheerful tone.
#4 Essential Oils and Aromatherapy
Diffuse essential oils like pine, cinnamon, orange, or frankincense to evoke festive and positive vibes.
If you do not have a diffuser, place simmering pots of herbs, cinnamon, orange or pine on the stove before guests arrive.
#4 Rearrange Furniture
Shift furniture slightly to refresh the energy flow, especially in gathering areas.
If possible, arrange seating to encourage connection and conversation
#6 Bring in Nature
Decorate with fresh greenery like pine garlands, holly, or mistletoe to infuse vitality.
Add seasonal flowers, such as poinsettias or amaryllis, to energize the space.
#7 Crystals and Energy Tools
Place clear quartz, amethyst or rose quartz around the home to protect and harmonize energy. Be sure to first clear the crystals by cleansing them overnight in salt water.
Use a selenite want to sweep negative energy out of the house
#8 Set Intentions
Light a candle and set intentions for joy, gratitude, and love to fill your home
Write positive affirmations or wishes for the holidays and place them in a decorative jar or on your Christmas tree.
#9 Use Light
Hang fairy lights or string lights to brighten dark corners or areas.
Add candles (soy or battery operated) to create warmth and a serene glow
#10 Infuse Love and Memories
As your family gathers, ask each person to share their favorite holiday memory.
